To help end homelessness for adult women in King County by providing shelter, life skills training, social services and supportive permanent housing, offering a path from homelessness to stable independent living.
We believe in the necessity of shelter and safe living conditions for all persons.
We believe in the equality of all, cherishing diversity, and treating each person we meet — client, volunteer, donor, staff — with the same respect, dignity, and care.
We respect diversity, supporting individuality and personal growth.
We believe in empowering women to achieve their personal objectives.
We guide women with compassionate presence.
We invite participation within the entire community.
"You have been my pillow of support when nobody else heard my cries."
Every single adult woman experiencing homelessness on the Eastside will know that The Sophia Way truly cares about her and will stand by her side as she makes her personal journey to independence. She will know that she deserves a safe, warm place to live.
We will aspire to give shelter and housing to every woman seeking our help . . .that funding and resources will not be an obstacle because we will finally live in a community that understands and wholeheartedly commits to helping our mothers, our sisters, our grandmothers find a home. Our community will realize that shelter is a basic human right everyone deserves and that we are obligated, as a civil, moral and just society, to care for our most vulnerable citizens when they need it the most and help them along the pathway to independence.
