A Helping Hand

Gail served in the armed forces and when she ended her military service, she moved to the Seattle area. She started an engineering education program and she also tutored students in math. But she was not earning enough to provide her own housing…
Evelyn worked as a housekeeper in an upscale retirement facility which was physically and mentally demanding. Homeless, she spent her nights sleeping in airport seating areas, as though she was a stranded traveler…
Claire was living at home with her parents while she attended college locally and worked part-time. Her academic performance was good but her relationship with her parents was strained due to the challenges her parents were experiencing. When her difficulties became unbearable Claire decided to live out of her car, while she attended school and worked…

Last year, with your support we were able to give 45 women – like Gail, Claire and Evelyn – their key to an independent life. But there are many many other women who need to be supported and counseled as they navigate their way from homelessness to stable independent living. Please contact us to know more about how you can be our partner and supporter.

Corporate funding enables us to offer women experiencing homelessness the basic necessities of life – a safe warm place to sleep, clothing, and three meals a day.

We are fortunate to have many local organizations and businesses who partner with The Sophia Way as we strive to provide every woman with the means to live independently and move into permanent housing.
