Celebrating an Anniversary

Dear Friends,

Thirteen years ago tonight, women seeking shelter on the Eastside were able to come inside for the night. A place that offered warmth, safety, and nourishment and provided energy and hope for the next day. Because of you and everything you do, more than 5,000 women have found a comforting shelter, a supportive community, and stability that has helped each one thrive.

The Sophia Way’s mission and programs are stronger than ever thanks to the values instilled by our late founder, Helen Leuzzi, that we continue to live by every day – serving each woman with dignity, compassion, and supportive caring.

With your support, we care for and support women without homes in the community with trained, dedicated staff. We are excited to have the permanent shelter location at Helen’s Place, client assistance resources, and the addition of a robust mental health program that helps women stabilize. Looking ahead, as we begin a new year of supporting women experiencing homelessness, we are grateful to have your kindness, dedication, and generous support for women at The Sophia Way.

The Sophia Way will always be a place of hope and change for women, and with your contributions, they will find the support to find a place to call home.

In grateful service,

Dietra Clayton, Managing Executive Director
Zee Peters, Executive Director, Development & Engagement
Sophia Hernandez, Executive Director, Finance & Operations
And, The Sophia Way Board & Staff
