Growing Stronger

growing stronger

Our garden at Sophia’s Place is in full bloom and ripening with fresh delicious vegetables.  Thank you to all of the Volunteers that made that possible. The summer has also been a time of new growth for The Sophia Way as we continue to improve our programs and implement some beneficial changes with the intent of better serving our women.  We are in the process of hiring new staff at our overnight shelter.  I would also like to welcome six year veteran staff member, Karie Stearns, as our new Programs Director of case management and Sophia’s Place.

I continued to be awe inspired by the overwhelming amount of generosity from our donors, volunteers, staff, the faith based community and the dedicated Board of Directors. We are grateful for this much needed support, especially since the demand continues to rise. Throughout July, our Day Center served an increasing number of women on a daily basis and our Shelter was at full capacity. Thank you for helping us give the women respite from the heat and show them that someone cares.
