Housing Success!

News Nov - HousingThere were tears of joy and a feeling of accomplishment at our office (and a happy dance too!) when Mary was approved for an apartment in August Wilson Place, Bellevue.
Mary was homeless for seven years and was unable to stay in a shelter because she was not ready to be sober. After being given a second chance at The Sophia Way, she stabilized herself by attending therapy sessions and not self-medicating. She then called every apartment complex in Bellevue with the help of her case management team, and finally, with your support, Mary moved into her own apartment last week!
“I forget to switch off my room lights thinking I live in the shelter,” says Mary.  “I should get used to MY HOME”!
