Help Create New Beginnings

There are more than 4,000 women living on the streets and in shelters in King County without basic necessities. With no funds, and little or no access to healthcare, they live in constant fear and struggle to survive.

Linda had been experiencing homelessness and struggling to find stability since 2016. She slept on friend’s couches and sometimes in a tent. Linda came to Sophia’s Place Day Center and learned about our Night Shelter. She applied and moved in within a few months. Her case manager helped her create a plan. Linda was  diligent and persistent – making phone calls, riding the bus to job interviews- and never gave up. Today, she has a steady job and her own apartment.

At The Sophia Way, women, like Linda, find the care and community they need —

A warm and safe place to sleep

  Access to showers and laundry

  Nutritious food and snacks

  Compassionate case managers

  Housing opportunities
At The Sophia Way, women find new beginnings.

Sophia Voices

It was nice to be able to come “home” in the evening and relax, take a shower and feel clean. I had my own cubicle and the staff made sure that our space was respected. I felt safe. Sophia’s Place not only provided me a roof, showers, and food, but a caring staff that guided me and uplifted my spirits.
