The Holidays Are Already Underway at The Sophia Way!

News - Holiday Festivity

Our shelter has been decorated and visited by carolers. Our Holly House has held their holiday party. Gifts have been donated and wrapped. And even more festivities are planned for the next few weeks!

This week, volunteers put together gift bags for our clients in our shelter and in housing, and will be delivering them to the housing clients on Thursday, the 17th. The band “Learning to Fly,” a Sophia Way favorite, will be performing at our shelter this Friday night, the 18th.

On Christmas Day, our Day Center will have extended hours until 5:00 PM, funded by a few very generous donors. There will be a hot meal, caroling, and gifts, in addition to regular Day Center Services.

We have had an overwhelming and truly awe-inspiring response from the community with offers to help make the holidays warm and merry for women experiencing homelessness. We cannot thank you all enough for your kindness and compassion this season, and all year round. We would especially like to thank longtime volunteer Alison Dildine and board member Karen Odle for organizing the holiday gifts and festivities, and The Assistance League of the Eastside for helping with wrapping!

Happy Holidays everyone!
