IN-PERSON
Our Donation Center is open every Wednesday, between 12 and 2 pm. Please email volunteer@sophiaway.org for the address. We are unable to accept donations at our office or shelter locations.
Our current needs:
- Leggings
- Underwear (new only)
- Light jackets for spring
- Rainboots and waterproof sneakers
- Bath towels
- Suitcases and backpacks
- Small household appliances
- Breakfast supplies and pantry staples
Donation guidelines: We support women with compassion, and that means offering items that reflect their dignity and give them joy. Please review these guidelines before donating items.
- Clothing – new or very gently used, and suitable for women ages 18 to 80. Sizes L and extra-large (3XL+) are greatly appreciated
- Socks and underwear – new and unopened
- Bras – new or gently used
- Footwear – flat or low-heeled
- Toiletries and personal care – new and unopened
- Food items – must be at least 4 months from sell-by or best-by date
We cannot accept items that are dirty, damaged, heavily worn, or outside our current needs. If you have items that don’t meet these guidelines, we encourage you to donate them elsewhere.

gift cards
Gift cards are a great option for women to access basic necessities of their choice, including gas and groceries.
Donate gift cards from Safeway/Albertson, Fred Meyer/QFC, Starbucks, Amazon.

Donation of furniture: We don’t have the space to store furniture and rely on partners who assist with items when needed. Please consider donating furniture to:

Donation of children’s items: We are a women’s shelter. If you have clothing or items for children and families, please consider donating to our partners:
Vehicle donation
If you have a vehicle that you no longer need, please consider donating it. We have partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to make it easy for you to donate your vehicle and support women experiencing homelessness. Donations are tax-deductible.
