Shelter Needs

We are grateful to all who support women experiencing homelessness with in-kind donations.

Online

Please order items directly from our wishlists. These are updated regularly, as we add new items as needed.

In-person

We accept donation of items at our Donation Center on Wednesdays between 12 and 2 pm. Please email Megan Duncan to schedule a drop-off.

Note: Our Donation Center will be closed on December 18th, 25th, and January 1st.

Please do not bring any items to our office or shelters.

We support women with compassion and respect their lived experiences. We endeavor to provide women with quality items that spark joy when they receive them. Before you donate, please read these guidelines to know if the items would be helpful.

  • Clothing should be suitable for women ages 18 to 80. Many of the women need sizes L and above; extra large sizes (3XL+) are greatly appreciated
  • Clothing need to be new or very gently used
  • Socks and underwear must be brand new (gently used bras are welcome)
  • Footwear must be flat or low-heeled
  • Toiletries must be new and unopened
  • Food items need to be at least two months from their the sell-by / best-by date

Host a Donation Drive

A great opportunity to involve children and friends. Email Megan Duncan to know our current needs. Here is a list of our always-needed items:

  • Bath towels (new or gently used)
  • Bottled water
  • Breakfast items such as cereal, oatmeal, coffee, tea, juice
  • Clorox cleaning wipes
  • Hand soap
  • Single serving snacks: chips, crackers, jerky, nuts, dried fruit, trail mix
  • Underwear (new) in all sizes
  • Ziplock sandwich baggies

Gift Cards

Gift cards are a great option for women to access basic necessities of their choice. Donate gift cards from Safeway, QFC, Fred Meyer, Target, or Walmart. Please mail the cards to The Sophia Way, 1100 Bellevue Way NE, #8A-110, Bellevue, WA 98004.

Women moving into housing often need furniture and furnishings. We rely on two community partners that help with needed items. Please consider donating furniture and furnishings to:

Donation of vehicles

If you have a vehicle that you no longer need, please consider donating it. We have partnered with CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services) to make it easy for you to donate your vehicle and support women experiencing homelessness. Donations are tax-deductible.
